Fossil Fossick
Our Society is pleased to be part of this the fortieth ACT Heritage Festival celebrating our region’s heritage in its many forms. This year we continue with our popular Fossil Fossick outings.
Book early to avoid missing out.
Sundays 16 & 23 April 1.30pm

The tours will take you on a self-drive tour with an experienced guide on private property, approx. 10 klms from Yass to explore the fossil beds made famous by Alfred Shearsby. Tour will meet at Coronation Park, behind the Visitors Information Centre at 1.30pm with an expected finish time of 4.00pm. Sturdy footwear and a moderate level of fitness are required.
You may like to visit the Yass & District Museum between 10am and 1pm on those days to learn more about Alfred Shearsby who spent years exploring the fascinating fossil beds in the Yass Valley. Bookings and pre-payment are essential.
No disabled access and not suitable for children under 10 years.
Each tour is limited to 25 participants so book early to avoid disappointment.
